Expression as a basis of New Form in Industrial Design
Background
IDC published its first research journal Abhikalpa in 1984. We had an young and energetic team. Kirti Trivedi took lot of initiative as chief editor. We had review panel as well. It was meant to bring out our efforts in bringing an intellectual culture to design. The research culture was yet to start in 'design'. Unfortunately we could not sustain our efforts for long. Abhikalpa ended with 3 issues. It did get noticed by the design community in a significant way! This paper formed a basis for my teaching of 'Form' at IDC in later years.
