The article revisits an M.Des Foundation exercise at IDC, IIT Bombay (1985–87), examining how problem framing, material engagement and Active Silence can reveal underlying visual orders.
Through a retrospective reading of student Rūpas and metaphoric leads from Nature and culture, it explores their relevance to contemporary design pedagogy in the age of AI.
